Traffic light tomatoes

Melbournia is heating up a tad, which means the tomatoes are really starting to ripen.

I love the stages they go through, from dark green to a limier, lighter shade of green, slight hints of a tint, then yellowish, to a darker shade of orange and finally a deep, dark, delicious red. And that is only my red cherries.

These yellow tomatoes should follow a different trajectory

And as for these black russians, well that will be fun to watch

(except i suspect that they will ripen while i am on holiday back in Adelaide, oh well, lucky garden sitter then!)

Those tomatoes are really beautiful. For me it is the middle of winter and to see the tomatoes lets me dream a little more.

Gorgeous pictures! It sure is hard waiting for those tomatoes to get ripe.
