Just a little harvest this week. Another martini glass of tomatoes ripened inside.
Leaving these behind to gain colour or wrinkle and die.
Four small purple bush beans.
On the cucurbit front, two baby zucchini, one unpollinated, one accidentally knocked off and one lopsided cucumber, probably pollination problems.
Now with most of the tomatoes torn out the harvests will be smaller - but there is some hope, 4 eggplants of varying sizes on the eggplant bush!

The eggplant are beautiful, I love the lavender blossoms. You probably won't have pollination problems with those, they're self fertile. Actually, I read somewhere that bees tend to avoid eggplant blossoms because the pollen is bitter.
I hope you don't mind if every time I come here, I am jealous. Fresh tomatoes! Beautiful!
What a nice harvest. I'll be sad to see your tomato harvest stop. It is such a nice sight in the middle of winter.
The martini tom's look excellent. Bummer about losing some plants. I wonder if there is varieties specifically breed for Australian heat?
Last week I watched an Anthony Bourdain episode on Melbourne. Looks like a really cool place, maybe not so cool in weather though ;-)
Problem with planting tomatoes that prefer the heat is that much of the summer in Melbourne is in the high 20s which those tomatoes wouldn't like. It's just the occasional 40+ scorcher that throws a wrench in the works.
Still, a lovely harvest!
