Harvest Monday

What better than to return to writing with a Harvest Monday post! It won't be a long one, if only because this stupid new blogger platform has made it extra hard to post, oh fun! So many harvests have been missed while I took a break from the blog (due to excessive work) but it doesn't mean they haven't been enjoyed. Here are some of the things I've harvested over the past few months.

There was the last tomato (above) and the final few corn. All delicious and enjoyed with a number of meals (details to follow in a different post)

Some winter greens such as snow peas, kale, silverbeet and more

And the first of the citrus! A lemon and a lime! (all used up in this pic)

With semester drawing to a close I hope to have more time to devote to this blog and will finally attend to all the posts I promised.

That corn makes me drool. I so hope to get some good corn this year. I've never really gotten it to produce well here. But I'm trying again with a lot of it. I'm hoping.

For a balcony garden you sure produce a lot. I too am envious of your corn, I tried growing them but the squirrels always get to them before I do so I gave up.

Your balcony garden is a real inspiration. You show how much and what variety can be produced if one has the enthusiasm and know how to do it.

That corn- on a balcony... intolerable. Here i have raised beds and can't get an ear of corn that size for the life of me. LOL>

That's very impressive to grow corn on a balcony! I think all balconies should have corn.

That tomato looks great! Is that Black Krim? And it's a first time I see anyone grow corn on a balcony so congrats on that!

Thanks for all the corn comments! It is actually pretty easy to grow and makes a great screen from the street. I'll devote a whole post to it soon.

Jenny - They were black Russians, but they did look more black krim to me than black russian! Either way they were delicious (all 8 of them, as while corn may thrive, tomatoes here are a little doomed these days.)
